I love a good puzzler.
Although Space Chem is a few years old, I thought I’d post it here because not only does it involve chemistry, but it uses chemistry to teach logic that can help with programming.
The point of the game is to take individual elements and output molecules. Different elements will need to be picked up, rotated and linked together in specific ways to create the necessary molecules. All this moving and linking teaches the logic behind strong coding; code needs to be executed in a specific order for the desired outcome to occur.
The analogy to coding goes even further. Just like there is no single solution to a coding problem, there is no single solution to any of the puzzles; although there may be one that results in fewer steps. In this way, players can learn to create a solution, and then try and figure out a better way to do it. Just like coding.
This is a fun game and one I’ll keep coming back to. But I recommend playing on a high resolution tablet or a computer screen as the text is quite small.
Good luck and have fun cracking the codes puzzles!
