I can’t believe I played World of Goo for the first time 5 years ago.
Although clearly not a new game, I thought I’d put it up on my list of science games as it does an amazing job of teaching engineering.
In this game, you play an almighty being that moves balls of goo. The balls can be attached to one another to build structures which you need to create to get the balls of goo to their home. As you quickly learn, the structures need to be reinforced. And what you quickly find out is that you’re learning how to be an engineer through trial and error.
It’s a fun game for all ages, but I could see it being particularly fun for kids 8 and up.
You can grab the game here for $20 for the PC, but it’s also available on the App Store and Google Play for play on phones and tablets.
